Here's something that you really don't want to skimp on! For great looking hair, start your hair treatment early on. Start by using good salon quality products. Although a lot more expensive (because of their base ingredients), they are far better. Many of the mass market brands build-up on your hair over time and can dull your hair, eventually weakening then splits and breaks. Great hair also requires a well balance healthy diet and drink plenty of water.
Don't buy a veil, tiara or any hair accessories until you've chosen your outfit but you can start to build a collection of images that you like. Search the internet and bridal magazines for ideas and inspiration. Talk through your ideas with your stylist but remember to keep an open mind and listen to their ideas and recommendations.

If you're looking for a local make-up artist it's best to seek a recommendation. Ask friends, local hairdressers and enquire at local make-up counters. Many department stores offer a relatively cheap (sometimes free) make-up service in return for purchasing a few of their products. Your wedding photographer may also be able to offer recommendations.
