Find and Hire a Wedding Planner

Some venues offer an onsite wedding co-ordinator whose services are covered in the hire fee. They are usually very good at their job, know their venue inside out and can recommend favoured suppliers. But they are employed by the venue, not you. An independent professional wedding planner will offer a more personal, bespoke, detailed and all-inclusive level of service. They have good contacts, good knowledge and use tried, tested and trusted venues and suppliers. They are also surprisingly cost effective, often securing discounts that more than cover their fees.

Wedding planners keep abreast of the latest wedding trends, can advise on costs, negotiate contracts, and secure you the best deals ensuring you get value for money. They can do as much or as little as you choose. Sometimes hired to assist with a specific aspect of the wedding such as finding a venue or sourcing suppliers. For this service it’s likely that you’ll be charged a flat fee or hourly rate. Or they can offer full event management where they take care of everything, organise your outfits, send out invitations, bring in suppliers, accompany you to dress fittings and menu tastings and make sure everything is perfect and everyone is happy on the day. Expect to pay a percentage of the budget for this service.
